May 2010: "The Historical Morgan House & Textile Industry Exhibit"
(Guest Juror TBA: juried awards/Open to UVA members)
Upstate Visual Arts plans to showcase an exhibition of art works created to commemorate the Historical Morgan House. The original pieces will be created in a variety of mediums: clay, painting, photography, bronze and digital/graphics. The exhibit will also add a little historical background about the Brandon Mills and the Historical Morgan House. We plan to have a complimentary exhibition in the second galleries that showcases textiles. About the textile industry, textile works and hopefully a weaving loom artist.
June 2010: "Dog Gone Days" pet and animal exhibit. BYOP for meet & greet
(Open to All Area Artist)
This will be a family fun exhibition and event for the First Friday Weekend of June 4 opening F.F. June 4, 6-9. We want to have a fun filled exhibition of pet friendly artworks inspired by the ones we love "our PETS". We also hope to see many folks out and about with cuddly creatures (in your arms or on a leash please). We are now open on Sat noon-4 and would like to see folks come out in the West Greenville Pendleton Street Arts District; UVA plans to host a family friendly art area, projects for the kid in all of us
